Ellen appears on British Library's exhibit panel Journeys to the Land of Faerie

During the British Library’s Fantasy: Realms of Imagination exhibit, they are also running diverse programming that encompasses Q&As with celebrated fantasy authors, creative writing workshops, and after-hours events.

Read what Ellen wrote about arriving for the experience at her Substack, “Rainbows for Thomas the Rhymer.” She shares a rundown of the process and photos!

Below, watch the Journey to the Land of Faerie, described as "an evening of dark enchantment. Mult-award-winning authors Ellen Kushner, Jeannette Ng, and Terri Windling explore faery lore in fantasy literature, with award-winning singer and song collector Sam Lee performing faery ballads from the folk tradition. The even is hosted by Dr. Rob Maslen, the Centre for Fantasy & the Fantastic, University of Glasgow."

The panel conversation above was succeeded by a performance: Ellen Kushner and Sam Lee trading back and forth—reading excerpts from Thomas the Rhymer, providing musical accompaniment, singing ballads like The Famous Flower of Servingmen, and more. You can watch the performance on YouTube here.
